Get Involved

Can you make a difference in the Chichester and District area?

ChOPP has been given a unique opportunity to identify and support the needs and aspirations of older Wendy and Beryl - Wittering Thurs Grouppeople in this area, with a primary aim to promote health and independence in any way possible. Individuals’ needs will inevitably vary according to location and those in the heart of the city will identify different needs to those in small rural communities on the periphery of our area.

ChOPP needs your help to identify and develop appropriate and relevant support services in all areas and we would welcome your input. Please do get in touch!

Better neighbourhoods

Community Engagement Workers are now active in your neighbourhood.

The Engagement Workers are involved with local communities and groups, with the primary aim to identify gaps in local services, as well as enabling the community to build its own solutions. Additionally, the Community Engagement Workers assist groups who may be recently established, experiencing minor difficulties, or perhaps wish to expand and develop.  They can link groups to help from our specialist team, which includes a Business Development Officer, Community Fundraiser and Publicity Officer, and also include groups in the ChOPP membership, and other organisations, to raise awareness and profile.

The Engagement Workers are actively seeking volunteers, of all ages, to work within their own neighbourhoods.

If you are an older person seeking support, the Community Engagement Workers are happy to refer you to relevant service and agencies, particularly the Community Partnership Team.

Getting your voice heard - We are reliant on your help!

We are relying on individuals and groups from throughout the Chichester and District area to let us know the needs within each locality. That is not just in the heart of the city but right across the district, within towns, villages and hamlets as well. Do you have an active organisation that can support others? Can you identify a need in your area? Is there a service that already works really well and we can learn from? We really want to know. Please contact our Coordinator.

Volunteering opportunities

We need your help to achieve these goals. Are you active in your community, could you be a community champion who can help us to identify vulnerable older people in your immediate locality?

Fundraising and Publicity

Are you a group that is struggling to keep going, or perhaps you have new ideas for opportunities that you wish to develop? ChOPP may be able to help you. Community Fundraising advice is available to support groups looking to achieve funding from various sources, and similarly, our Publicity Officer is available to support with publicity opportunities. Let us know how we can help you – we really want to know!
